Creative Coloring – AECP

Welcome to my second class for level 3.

I’ve been working on projects for this course for weeks, but every time I thought I was done, I wanted to create another card because I thought I could do better. The last card I created is my favorite (photo below,) and I know, I know – it’s a little on the nose with lesson 4, but I don’t care because I love how it turned out. (Lesson 4 is how to create the dripping ink look on your panel…this was my favorite technique to learn.)

I also want to point out the stamps and dies used for the card below are from the March Mindfulness Retreat Truly Amazing stamp, die, and stencil set. I was looking for a simple flower and leaves set and this fit the bill perfectly. 😁 I can’t wait for the retreat.

Dripping Ink

I did come away with some favorite techniques and the dripping technique I mentioned above is one of them, and the second one is watercoloring my stencil. I created 3 cards with this technique, and expanded on this technique as well.

Before I get started with my creations, I want to note, I created a lot of cards for this course, and I’m going to show them all. I’ll show the projects I’m proud of and the ones that were for educational purposes only. Ha!

The Other Cards – Educational Purposes Only

Here are the other projects I made to help me learn as I went along.

This one just wasn’t quite right. The location of the sentiment is all wrong.

This was a good try, but the flower is just too big with too many leaves.

This was my first try, and you can tell…I really tried.

So, those are my valiant efforts.

One More

I have one more I want to show, but wasn’t necessarily created for this post. With that said, this card was created as I was finishing up my projects for this course, and I had to try this technique just one more time, but used this project for Altenew’s January challenge. I love how this card turned out.

I think that’s enough for this class…I hope you enjoyed my journey.
