Welcome back to the blog! Today, I am incredibly excited to share a brand-new card project featuring some gorgeous floral elements. If you know me, you know I can never resist a beautiful bouquet—especially when it involves classic, bold roses.
For this project, I wanted to create something that feels like a fresh garden delivery arriving right in the recipient’s mailbox.
Here is a look at the finished card:
🎨 Design Details & Coloring
To bring this card to life, I focused heavily on creating deep contrast and vibrant layers.
The Red Roses: I used a blend of deep, rich reds and bright crimson mid-tones to give the petals a velvety, realistic depth. Leaving just a hint of lighter highlights on the edges really makes the bloom pop!
- The Accent Florals: To balance the dramatic red, I added clusters of bright, sunny yellow filler flowers. This color combination instantly brings a cheerful, summery energy to the design.
- The Layout: Instead of a traditional central bouquet, I framed the card by arranging the floral die-cuts along the top and bottom corners, leaving a clean, crisp white space in the center for the sentiment.
📝 The Sentiment
I kept the greeting simple and elegant with a beautiful cursive script that reads:
“sending a birthday bouquet”
It perfectly complements the botanical theme without distracting from the coloring work.
