Welcome back to the blog, crafty friends!
Sometimes, the simplest designs pack the biggest punch. Today, I’m excited to share a bright, clean, and modern handmade card featuring a gorgeous pop of color that is sure to bring a smile to anyone’s face.
As an Altenew Ambassador, I love experimenting with clean and simple (CAS) layouts that let vivid colors and strong typography take center stage.

Design Inspiration & Details
For this project, I wanted to focus on geometric elements combined with organic textures:
- The Color Palette: I chose three vibrant shades— hot pink, sky blue, and sunny yellow—to serve as the focal point.
- Arched Windows: The die-cut arched windows create a sleek, modern background that holds the bold colors neatly together.
- Textured Accents: To contrast the bold, flat colors, I added a delicate white die-cut leaf branch tucked behind the main sentiment.
- I used some leftover die-cuts, including the sentiment.
- The Sentiment: A bold, black-and-white “hugs” sentiment grounds the vibrant background and makes the message pop off the card base!

Key Techniques
- Clean Die-Cutting: Using precision die-cuts for the rounded arches creates a seamless background window effect.
- Layering with Depth: Using foam adhesive behind the panel creates subtle shadows, giving the minimalist design extra dimension.
- Soft Framing: Mounting the white focal panel onto a soft blush cardstock base ties all the warm tones together seamlessly.
Crafty Tip: When working with ultra-vibrant colors like bright pink and yellow, balance them with plenty of crisp white space and a solid black sentiment. This keeps the design looking clean and intentional rather than overwhelming!
Thank you so much for stopping by today! I hope this project inspires you to pull out your bright colors and play with clean geometric shapes.
Happy crafting! 🎨✨
