Beautiful Details – AECP

The next class for Level 2 is Beautiful Details. I have to admit, I struggled with this one. I went through a lot of practice panels using the technique I learned from the course, and I didn’t like most of them. I did, however, create a couple card panels that I did like and was able to use a few of the techniques reviewed.

The Cards

My First Card

For this card I inked up my stamp and used my blending brush to move the ink towards the center of the stamp. Once stamped, I went in with a purple pencil crayon to add some details.

The Second Card

This card is a bit out of my comfort zone, especially with the colors. I’ll be honest, I’m not great with coloring or even just adding a few highlights but I gave it my best shot.

The Details

I realized after this course that I should get myself some decent pencil crayons. I’ve learned through other mediums that good quality products really do make the difference in my work. I learned this lesson the hard way with watercolor markers and watercolor paints. After using sub-par alcohol markers, I finally took the plunge and grabbed some Copics, and boy are those amazing markers. You can check out my thoughts here Are Copic Markers Worth It?.

That’s it for this class, all. See you at the next one – Colour Your Day.
