This project is a bit over the top, and risky…I know.
I contemplated posting this project, because it’s so different and dramatic, but in the end, decided to share it anyway. No reward without risk, right?! 🤗
I used the newly released Foil Relief Paste, with Berry Red Hot Foil and the (new to me) Watercolor Stripes Stencil. I was going for a distressed background. I waited roughly 3hrs before I added the foil to the relief paste. I tried to use similar reds on the flowers – Heart Beat & Velvet. I ink-blended Heart Beat and Jet Black Fresh Dye Ink on the leaves.
The black background makes the red flowers and foiled texture pop with intensity, while the white sentiment provides a necessary focal point that anchors the entire design. I used the ‘LOVE YOU’ sentiment on purpose, as the color red is an expression of excitement, passion, and love. I think this project hits the mark.

This project was created for an Instagram post and giveaway. Head over to my Instagram for details on a chance to win a $20 gift card to Altenew!
