This class was fun. This class is about changing up the standard card layouts and doing something a little different that you normally wouldn’t do.

I decided to focus on colors. Putting colors together that I normally wouldn’t. I created a few cards using a similar design and I was going to leave them that way, but then decided to add some die cutting to give the cards more interest.
Supplies
- Altenew Pink Pearl and Pink Diamond Dye Ink
- Altenew Morning Frost and Permanent Black Dye Ink
- Distress Oxide Inks – Green, Blue and Pink
- Graphic Brushstrokes Stamp Set
- Poppy Garden Stamp Set
- Simple Greetings Die Set
- Shattered Triangle Die Set
- A Splash of Color Stamp Set
The Cards
I used light colored dye inks to create my background with the brushstrokes stamps and splash of color stamps. I choose distress oxide inks, as they’re pigment inks and will sit on top of the background images stamped in dye ink. I kept the images simple, and tried to focus more on the contrast in colors between the background and flower.
Once I was done creating these cards I decided to die cut a couple of them with dies from the shattered triangle die set. This added so much more character to cards.
This first card, with the black background and pink-stamped flower is my favorite. I love how it looks. So simple but almost chaotic at the same time.
