Hello and welcome back to another project with the Altenew Academy.
This class shows you how to create different backgrounds in different ways. There are a lot of interesting ways you can create unique backgrounds, and I have a lot of new products I couldn’t wait to try.
One new product I just had to have was the Modern Hello Stamp Set. I loved the idea of layering my sentiment. One thing I realized was that Altenew’s Fine Alphabet Die Set letters almost exactly match the ‘HELLO’ sentiment in the Modern Hello Stamp Set. I was so excited, cause I knew I was going to use my letter dies with this stamps set. It took some trial and error, but I made it work.
Modern Hello Stamp Hello Dies with Modern Hello Layer
Technically I created 4 cards for this class. You’ll notice that one card doesn’t go with the others, so I’ll show it at the end of this post.
Supplies
- Altenew’s Modern Hello Stamp Set
- Altenew’s Fine Alphabet Dies
- Altenew’s Berry Branch Stamps and Dies
- Altenew’s Sugarplums Crisp Dye Ink Oval Set
- Silver Embossing Powder
- Versamark Ink
- Alcohol Inks
- Altenew’s Birthday Greetings – sentiment
The Cards
The first card is very similar to the third one. I used an off-white color cardstock and stamped ‘hello’ in the background covering the entire panel. It was a bit tricky to ensure my dies were lined up properly and stamped properly in order to ensure both fit like they’re suppose to.
My second card is probably my favorite. I love the colors and the accents in the background. I used the Modern Hello stamp as it should be used for this one.
For my third card, you can see I used the dies to write hello with the layered stamp again. You’ll also notice the very light stamped hellos in the background as well.
For my last card, this is something I’ve wanted to try for a while. I like it, but I feel like something is off. I’m not sure if it’s the sentiment placement or something else. I can’t quite put my finger on it. I just threw some alcohol ink on basic cardstock and die cut happy and stamped birthday on the bottom.
That’s it for this class – first class in Level 2! See you at the next one – In the Mood for Color
