Season Scene Building – AECP

So I went way out of my comfort zone on this one. I use alcohol inks to create my landscape. I’m new to alcohol inks but I really like how these turned out.

Season Scene Building

This class is about creating a scene and not necessarily a landscape scene, but a table top scene or even a backyard scene. I love the versatility of the concept.

I had to do some experimenting to find the look I was going for AND what stamping ink to use. I also realized that heat embossing is something that must be done very carefully.

Supplies

  • Altenew – Under the Cherry Blossom Tree Stamp Set
  • Tim Holtz – Alcohol Lift-Ink Pad
  • Staz On Ink – Jet Black
  • Pinata Alcohol Ink – Baja Blue and Rainforest Green
  • Isopropyl Alcohol

The Cards

I used the same technique for both cards. I put a few drops of blue alcohol ink on the top part of my card and added some isopropyl alcohol and used my paint brush to move the ink around creating my sky. I used the same technique with the green for the field. You can see on my one cards I added a little orange to the green to give me a brown look.

I added isopropyl alcohol in random areas to create more details. Some areas I used my brush to move the ink around or added a couple dabs to lighten the area.

For my first card I used the branch and bird from the Cherry Blossom Tree Stamp set with the alcohol lift ink. I made multiple stamps with the ink to remove all the alcohol ink.

For the second card, I used Staz-On black ink and the same stamps. I had to stamp my stamps multiple times in order to get a solid crisp black impression.

Well, that’s it for this class. I really enjoyed leaving my comfort zone for this lesson, and I’ll catch you at the next one – Easy Die Cutting Techniques
