Simple Card – Thanks

I recently got a new mini stamp from Altenew and a new Thanks die. I realized while I was storing them, I had some other dies from Altenew I haven’t even used yet. So, I thought I would combine my new stamp and die with an older (not yet used) die.

I wanted to do a simple card with the mini stamp (Mini Branch Stamp Set) and I have a feeling I’m going to get a lot of use out of this stamp. I love leafy stamps and dies. I also wanted to utilize Altenew’s frame dies (Fine Frames Rectangles). I have the fine frame circles too, but I’ve only used those once. I also just received a Thanks die (Fancy Thanks Die), which I’ll also be using.

Supplies Used

  • Fancy Thanks Die
  • Fine Frames Rectangles
  • Mini Branch Stamp Set
  • Momento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
  • Waffle Flower A2 Layers Dies
  • Copics – G07, G14, YG23
  • Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Pen
  • Simon Says Stamp Sequins Flowering Clover

I used a light coloured, heavy weight cardstock for my frame. I cut it 4 times in order to layer them and give me some dimension. I didn’t think foam tape or craft foam would work, as these frames technically cut individual frames in different sizes.

Then I stamped my mini branch stamp with Momento.

I’m not sure about this stamp pad. The ink is great with copics, but I seem to get a lot of blotchy impressions with this pad. Not all the time but often. You’ll notice a bit of blotch with this stamped impression.

Then I used my copics to colour my leaves. I love how easy it is to blend almost any colour of copics. I love the colour of these leaves.

Once this was done, I cut out my “Thanks” 3 times, glued them together. I then cut my panel slightly smaller than A2 and I adhered my frame around my leafy branch. I used an A2 size black cardstock to give me a black border for my main panel. This will coordinate with my “Thanks” sentiment, as it was cut out of black cardstock as well.

I used Spectrum Noir Sparkle Glitter Brush Pen and brushed the “Thanks” sentiment to add a little more style to the card. Finally, I added some sequins to the card. I only added 3 but I figured if I added any more it would be too much.

That’s it! This card didn’t take long to make, and I’m definitely going to use this mini branch stamp again with my card making.
