Die Cut Flower Ink Blending

Honestly, I think I need to rename my blog, as many of my best card panels are from challenges. 😁

Altenew selected me as one of the winners of October’s challenge. 😁

October 2023 Inspiration Challenge Winners

I struggled a bit with the background, as it just wasn’t right. I wasted about 3 other panels before I decided to use the Linear Crossroads die, which turned out to be perfect.

After spending too much time figuring out my background, the panel came together really quickly.

I used 4 inks to blend on the flowers petals and leaves from Craft-A-Flower: Rhododendron Layering Die Set. You’ll also notice I also made my own stencil with one of the petal dies, and used it to add more ‘spots’ to the other petals.

I used 2 watercolor brush markers for my splatter – Paper Bag and Evening Grey. I used the same colors on watercolor paper, and cut it with the Linear Crossroads Die.

While looking for a sentiment, I got a strong feeling when I saw the ‘Condolences’ stamp from the Oriental Poppy stamp set so I went with it.
