Magical Marker Techniques – AECP

Welcome back, all. The Magical Marker class is a really interesting class. It’s about taking your alcohol markers and doing more than just colouring your image. I’m lucky enough that I have some alcohol medium supplies to assist me with this class, and was able to utilize those supplies to give me some great results.

Magical Marker Techniques

Supplies

  • Copics – R05, R11, R22, R35
  • Grafix Craft Plastic Sheets
  • Altenew Poppy Garden Stamps and Dies
  • Geo Frames Die
  • Isopropyl Alcohol

The Cards

This first card is my favorite. This was the last card I made for this class and I was inspired by a recent Altenew video on Youtube – Quick & Easy Alcohol Markers on Yupo. I used my markers to color lines across the paper but then came in with a paint brush and isopropyl alcohol and blurred the colours on half the panel.

I also love the lines from the copics on the balloons. I was going to work to remove the lines, but they remind me of those giant-solid colour balloons that you blow up but kind of whiten in areas a bit as they get bigger. You know, those lines. So I actually worked to give them more definition.

I was so happy with this card, I made one for my husband’s birthday.

Masculine Card

For the next cards I used the smooshing technique. I took my markers and drew on my glass mat then sprayed the ink with alcohol and smooshed my panel on the ink.

Finished Card

I debated including this card, because something is a bit off, and I think it’s the black panel I used. I think I should have used a white panel, but I decided to include it anyway.

So that’s it for this class, all. I will catch you at the next one – Masking Unleashed.
