DIY Dry Eraser-Glider – For Stamp Platforms

What is it?

In one of Jennifer Mcguire’s video’s, she used a dry eraser to glide over her large stamp on her stamp platform. She mentioned where she got the idea (I don’t remember where) and how it was easier than using a cloth or a sleeve to add pressure and glide over the platform in order to apply more pressure to the stamp.

Making My Own

I realized I could easily make may own and I might have everything I need already.

I noticed how other gliders were made, and some used glass lids for the base of the product. Now finding these (lids only) is not easy, at least in Canada. I started looking at small mason jars, which looked promising, but the ones I had my eye on were online and in bulk. I needed to feel and hold the product before I made a decision, so, I hit Michael’s. Here is where I found the wood plaques and picked one up for super cheap.

Supplies

Wood Plaque
Acrylic Paint
Mod Podge
Altenew Black Dye Ink and Altenew Stamp
Foam Core and Felt – Black
Adhesive

Making the Stamp Platform Glider

This was easy. Using an oval die, close the the shape of my plaque, I cut 4 ovals in foam core and 1 oval in felt. I glued them together, making sure my felt was on one end of my layered foam core. The felt end will be used to glide on my stamp platform. I painted my plaque, stamped it, and sealed it with Mod Podge. I glued the die cut layers to my plaque and I was done.

That’s it! Easy-peasy.
