Big and Bold

I haven’t been doing too many blog post, but it’s because I’m super busy with work and other projects, and I can’t share any of them. Yet!

I feel like this months challenge gave me free rein to be bold.

I did have time to complete a challenge card for February. Actually, I completed 3, but I waited to the very last day to post them.

Here is the inspiration for Altenew’s February challenge.

I think my favorite part of the inspiration photos is the black background. I love using black on my panels.

My first panel was so quick. I had the die cut dahlias and sentiment already made. I just created my background and blackened the edges of my die cut and viola, done.

This next panel wasn’t so quick or easy. I think this was my 3rd or 4th attempt at this design. For some reason my cuts wouldn’t line up. Eventually, I got it done.

This next panel was a joy to create. I’m using the discontinued Happy Blooms from Altenew. You can’t tell but the large stamp stamped on the panel actually has a large banner for sentiments. I blocked that off with my die cut flowers for a fuller bouquet. I used my Zig markers to color all my flowers and added some splatter to the entire panel.
