It’s getting close to Christmas, and I’ve created quite a few cards. Some I’ll share, and some I won’t.
These two are a couple of my favorites. I love the black and red together, and it’s so different than a traditional Christmas card.
For the background I used the Festive Greenery embossing folder and the berry stencil. I added VersaMark ink on both panels with the berry stencil, and used pearl iridescent embossing powder on one, and red tinsel embossing powder on the other.
My only issue with the above panel is my left over anti static powder. I did my best to wipe it off, but as you can see from the photos, there’s still a bit left. I will note, though, to the naked eye, it’s not visible.
You’ll notice on my other panel below, I didn’t use anti-static powder, which left my black cardstock nice and crisp.
I really had to think and check the layering guide before die cutting the bird. I knew I wanted black and red, but I also wanted to take into consideration the way it would look put together. I used red cardstock for the beak and eye with black dye ink then I added some glossy accent’s to make them pop a bit more than the rest of the bird.
To add more sparkle I went over 2 layers of the bird die pieces with a sparkle marker before assembling.

Such striking use of colour and lovely to see you atWe Love Stamping challenge. But having read your post I’m not sure which elements are stamped, you only refer to die cutting and embossing?

The sentiment is stamped and then die cut. If that’s not enough, I understand.

Both are striking and have wonderful impact. Great background and colouring on the bird. Thank you for clarifying the stamping. Thank you so much for joining us in our challenge at We Love Stamping. Good Luck and I hope you will join us in our next challenge.

I love these. The one with the antistatic powder looks like it is glowing, but I also like the crispness of the blck and red on the second one. Thanks for sharing them with us at we love stamping. a stamped sentiment is enough for our challenge xx
